Thank you for registering up for ESA IC Board Trivia. This experiment will help prepare for the IC trivia night.

Rules:

  1. There will be 5 teams. All team members should join the Zoom meeting to participate.

  2. No outside help (such as internet searches, books, phone-a-friend, etc.) is allowed. The questions are intentionally designed to be difficult to quickly search for the answers on Google and time is limited, but don’t try to cheat.

  3. There will be a non-scored ice breaker round, followed by two scored rounds. Both scored round will be a “potpourri” of questions. The rules of each scored round will be slightly different as we experiment with adapting to the online format. See the list of rounds below for more information.

  4. Each team will be assigned to a Zoom “breakout room”. At the beginning of each round, team members will be automatically moved to their breakout room. When time is up, there will be 30 seconds to finalize your answers and submit the form, at which point all participants will be automatically moved back to the main Zoom room.

  5. Once teams are assigned, you will choose one person to be your team leader. To minimize disruption and background noises, only the team leader will be unmuted when in the main Zoom room. Other members should use the chat function in Zoom if necessary.

  6. Once in the team breakout rooms, all team members will be un-muted so that they can work together to answer the questions.

  7. Only one person should submit your team’s answer sheet. Once your answer sheet is turned in, you may not reclaim it to change or add answers. It is recommended that the person submitting the answers be able to share their screen on Zoom. If multiple answer sheets are received from the same team, the first submitted sheet will count for scoring.

  8. Links to the question and answer sheets for each round are provided below, but will not function until the round starts.

  9. To prevent accidental form submission prior to completing the round, all questions must have an answer entered. Even if you don’t know the answer, you must put something in the answer field to allow you to submit the form.

  • The icebreaker round will be a fun round to help you get to know your teammates as you familiarize yourselves with the online trivia format.

  • The trivia host will circle through the breakout rooms to assist with any initial technical issues.

  • There are no points for this round.

  • 5 questions, worth 10 points each.

  • 5 minutes to answer all questions

  • You may select one question as a mulligan (see the last selection before submitting the form).
